Well Hello!

I’m very excited to be getting back into Scrapbooking after a long hiatus. I’ve decided to tackle Project Life. It’s my first year doing Project Life so it will be interesting to see how it goes!

Due to the fact that my life is very quiet, I’ve decided to do my Project Life as a monthly overview as there just isn’t enough stuff happening in my life to fill 2 pages every week.

I’m using a mixture of the Cobalt and Clementine core kits. I also downloaded the Turquoise and Cobalt digital kits, as well as quite a few fun digital journalling cards and some brushes for a bit of variety. I'm still new at the digital scrapping thing so I'll see how that goes.

I haven't finished my 2012 Title Page yet but I have done a 2011 in Review spread.

This is the inside of my pullout Christmas Present List which has a couple of Instagram photos and a little bit more journalling.

I've also done an insert for New Years Eve. I cut down a Photo Pocked Page A to remove the second half as I didn't really have enough good photos for an entire page protector.

I used my new Fuji Instax 7s Polaroid camera on New Years Eve which was a novelty to the little kids who had never seen one before. I also used Instagram for a few photos too.

Anniversary Easel Card

I made this easel card for my aunt and uncle's anniversary. I think it turned out ok. though I had planned to use the line with hearts from Love Defined, but it hasn't arrived yet, instead of the tree branch for the owls to sit on. Will have to make one like that when the stamp set arrives!

Pirate Owl Cards

Just for clarification, I am no longer a Stampin' Up Demonstrator. However I still do crafty stuff.

I purchased the cutest Owl Card template from Lyn Pratt at Stamp n Design. I've made 3 of these owls and once you get the hang of it, they're pretty easy to do.

Two of these cards are going to be birthday cards. I've written inside - ARRRRRR!!! Happy Birthday Me Hearty!!

Next month Stampin' Up! starts a new Idea Book & Catalogue. Stampin' Up! has put out a list of retiring product such as ribbon, designer paper, ink pads, card stock, and markers as well as quite a few stamp sets.

Bird House

I did a bit more creating today, whilst watching both The Goodies and the Darling Buds of May (odd combination I know). I find it very difficult to create unless I'm watching something, usually it's Bones, NCIS or Doctor Who but thanks to Blockbuster I had a bit of a change of TV viewing!

Anyway, I found a template here, for the cutest bird house box. I've been wanting to make a bird house and use the Two Step Bird Punch from the current Mini Catalogue and this one is super easy because all you have to do is print out the template onto a piece of card stock and then cut it out and put together. The only measuring you do is for the roof.

I know the pictures aren't very good, awful lighting! Without further ado...my birdhouse complete with blue bird...

I promise it looks cuter in real life!

The bird hose is Pink Pirouette cardstock. I sponged Chocolate Chip ink on the bird's wing and Brilliant blue for the rest of the bird. The hole in the bird house actually has a piece of medium thickness Window Sheet covering it. I sponged the Chocolate Chip roof with Chocolate Chip ink and used a scallop edged piece of paper to make the scallop pattern. I know it's a bit difficult to see in the photo but it looks good. The ribbon ties the roof and the body of the bird house together but if you didn't want to put anything inside the box you could omit the ribbon and just stick the roof down.

You could use the box to put in chocolates, or a small present, or even bird seed! And you could decorate the bird house with flowers or use a background stamp on it to make it look more wood-like.

And now for something slightly different....a card made without stamps! I've seen these cards and finally got a chance to make one...a Penguin card!!

How versatile is the Big Shot Top Note Die?! Not only can you make things like quilted cards and boxes, you can also make cute animals!

I've named him Bert. :)

I'll even give you a run down on what I used to make Bert.

Body: Top Note Die in Whisper White and a piece of Basic Black

Feet: Curly Label Punch in Pumpkin Pie

Flippers/Hands: Large Oval Punch in Basic Black

Nose/Beak: Large Oval Punch (folded over in half)

Eyes: Circle from Big Shot Die Circles #2 and the white marks are made using my White Uniball Signo (also available from Stampin' Up)

Ribbon: Melon Mambo Polka Dot

Put them all together and you get the cutest Penguin in Queensland! :) You can also get Bert to hold things, some people have given him a heart to hold, such as this one here.

I've also made a cute Monkey card using the monkey from Fox & Friends.

This is just a small card and I got the idea off the Stampin' Up! Demonstrator website. Demonstrator's get all sorts of ideas from Stampin' Up each month, which is very helpful!

Important Colour Renovation Update

Today Stampin' Up! announced that they have limited stock of the retiring colours, so once they run out of a certain colour, that's it, they're not ordering any more stock.

I'm really looking forward to the new colours we're getting. There will be 5 new 'core' colours plus Kraft will be renamed Crumb Cake. The new core colours are Daffodil Delight, Marina Mist, Cherry Cobbler (sounds yum!), Early Espresso and Cajun Craze.

Despite the cold that I picked up at work this week, I managed to get a few cards made using some of the lovely products from the Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue.

This card below was inspired by this card at Splitcoast Stampers. It uses the All a Flutter butterfly and Very Vintage wheel.

Colour Renovation!!

Stampin' Up! is changing it's colours! Some are staying, some will go and there will be a few new ones too! This change takes place on September 1, so if you know of any ink pads, markers, paper or ribbon that you would like to stock up on, contact me at l_prothero@yahoo.com

There will also be a change in colour family names. The new colour palette is organized into four collections: Subtles, Brights, Regals, and Neutrals. You will see 25 of our current colours remaining, and ten past In Colors returning as core colours, and the addition of five new core colours.

To make things easy Stampin' Up! have come out with some flyers so you know what's retiring and what's staying.

Framed Present

Yesterday I became a Godmother for the second time, which of course meant I had to take a present to the Christening. Seeing as how I'm rather unemployed and rather broke at the moment, I decided to make my gorgeous Goddaughter a present.

I got my inspiration from Yvonne Campbell who created a lovely name frame. I changed mine a bit, using a large photo frame from Spotlight, which was I think a bit bigger than the one Yvonne used. I used Raspberry Tart DSP, which was also the paper we used for the Christening invitations. This was the result:

I used quite a few different things to decorate it -

The squares were cut out with the 1 1/4 inch square punch.
I used the Big Deal Alphabet stamp set for Annabelle's name.
Vintage Vogue stamp set for the flowers and stamped images in the corners
Flower Fusion
Circle Fire Rhinestone Brads
Flower Brads
I Heart Hearts stamp set and the matching Heart to Heart punch

Easter Creations

I made several different boxes over Easter, and used several of the new products in the Stampin' Up! Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue, including window sheets, the Scallop Envelope Die and Rich Razzleberry paper and ink.

This box was made using the box by Angie at Chic n Scratch. I love this box as it's very simple to make and looks cute! I used Pink Pirouette DSP and used the curly label punch to create the hole at the front of the box. I then adhered some medium thickness window sheet on the back of the cut out, which leaves a lovely see-through window!

I also made another bunny box, and it, along with the one I've posted about previously, were given to a couple of young relatives. I was able to fit a surprising amount of easter eggs and other chocolates in there!

This box was made using the Scallop Envelop Die from the new Mini Catalogue. I used Rich Razzleberry card stock and ink and the easter greeting is from Loads of Love Accessories stamp set. I cut out 4 scallop envelopes and stuck them together with sticky strip to create this box! Once again I used the curly label punch.

The other box I created was to hold an Easter present for a very tiny new relative. She's a bit too young for chocolate, considering she's only about 6 weeks old, so we bought her a little outfit and I made a box to put it in. I used Pink Pirouette DSP and cardstock, Regal Rose ribbon, circle and scallop circle punches, and Regal Rose ink for the turtle from Fox & Friends.

And that's what I've been up to lately! As well as job hunting, which is going fairly well, after a slow start to the week. Fingers crossed I get a job next week so I can buy more awesome products from the new Autumn-Winter Stampin' Up! Catalogue!

Big Shot Top Note Die

One of the new Big Shot dies available through Stampin' Up! is the Top Note Die. It's quite a versatile die. I've had a play around and have come up with a couple of examples.

This card was made using a square punch where I punched out a variety of squares from the Good Morning Sunshine DSP. I then stuck them on a piece of cardstock and ran the paper and Top Note die through my Big Shot and out came this:

I used the curly label punch and stamp from the curly label punch bundle. Pacific Point card stock and ink and a flower designer brad.

The owl stamp is from Fox & Friends also in the new Mini Catalogue. The background stamp is from the Priceless stamp set. Paper is Melon Mambo, Taken with Teal and Whisper White. Ink is Chocolate Chip and Versamark.

I've finally finished moving from the Gold Coast back to my home town of Brisbane. I'm currently in work and home limbo at the moment, but I do have access to most of my stamping supplies, so I'm hoping to get some stamping done soon!!

This cute little cheeky monkey is from the new stamp set I mentioned in my previous post. He's such a happy little fella!

The pink card stock is also from the upcoming Autumn/Winter Mini, it's called Melon Mambo and its gorgeous!! You can also get an inkpad and the loveliest polka dot ribbon, as well as the cardstock, in this colour and two other colours - Rich Razzleberry, which is kind of a purple colour, and Soft Suede which is a nice shade of brown.

I totally copied this card from Stampin' Up! founder Shelli Gardener. She created a lovely card using the box of presents from the Sale-a-bration set Happy Moments so I decided to use the flower stamp from the same set and came up with the card above.

I used blender pens to colour in the flowers, the ribbon is Kiwi Kiss/Very Vanilla satin, the scallop border punch and the strip of pink DSP is from Raspberry Tart (I use that paper a lot!)

Easter Bunny!

I know Easter's a few weeks away but I saw a card on Splitcoast Stampers made by SleepyinSeattle using Sweet Treat Cups that inspired me. You can see the card here.

I decided to make the box made by Angie, which she also used for her Easter Bunny box. She has a great video tutorial for the box on her blog, which I found helpful.

The green DSP is actually from a retired DSP line called Spring Break. The orange DSP on the handle is from Haiku, which you can find in the current Stampin' Up! catalgoue.

The bunny is made using the 1 3/8" circle punch for his face, the large oval for his feet and ears, pumpkin pie grosrain ribbon for his bow and the pink on his face, ears and feet is done using Stampin' Pastels. This is just a first try at the Bunny Box so hopefully after a few attempts, he will look even cuter!!

A big thanks to everyone who came to my 2 recent stamping classes!! I hope you enjoyed yourselves. I won't be having any classes in March as I am currently moving from the Gold Coast back to Brisbane at the end of the month and I've only just started packing!!

A friend of mine requested I design some invitations for her gorgeous daughter's christening in April. I whipped these up last night. The invitation stamp set I used, called Introducing, is from the Spring Mini, so you can't purchase it any more, but there is a lovely set in the main catalogue called Please Come that would be great for invites.

Anyway I used the Introducing and Priceless stamp set on the invte below. Cardstock colours are Close to Cocoa, Rose Red, Kiwi Kiss, Very Vanilla and the designer paper is Raspberry Tart.

These two are really simple invitations, which would be good if you have lots of people to invite to your gathering!

Wild About You!

I've had the Wild About You stamp set for a while but haven't had much a chance to use it. It has some very cute animals in it, including this lovely lion.

I coloured him with markers to get the different coloured mane and body. I love doing bows like I've done on this card, I think it makes them look very fancy!

I made quite a few cards over the weekend. Sunday ended up being a very creative day!

Both the presents and the sentiment are from one of the Sale-a-bration stamp sets called Happy Moments. I also used the Happy Happy Birthday jumbo wheel for the background.

This one caused me no end of grief because I had to make a sliding trap door at the back for the jelly beans to come out of. It's made using the Something Sweet stamp set from the Summer Mini catalogue.

As of tomorrow I will no longer be a Stampin' Up demonstrator. Unfortunately life has a habit of getting in the way of things, so I've decided that this is the best option. I've really enjoyed being a demo and will continue to upload cards and scrapbook pages. On the plus side, it means I get to play a bit more with the retired stamp sets and papers!!

I ordered a few things from the Summer Mini catalgoue a few days ago, which I'm looking forward to the arrival of. Well, more than a few things. :) I can't wait to play with the Something Sweet and Animal Stories stamps, amongst others!

I've managed to get back into the card making groove this week. Below are some examples of what I've been working on.

I've been asked to make quite a few baby cards as there's a lot of babies appearing lately. This one is using the Build-a-Roo set and I used some dimenionals to make the little joey pop out of it's mother's pouch.

Another baby card. I borrowed this idea from someone, but unfortunately I can't remember who! I also did a slightly girlier version with pink and other pastel colours but I can't get it to photograph properly.

Below are two criss cross cards. The first one uses Walk in the Park DSP from the spring mini catalogue. It's no longer current but I love the paper. The Great Friend stamps and flower brad are also from that mini.

This criss cross card uses the lovely Good Morning Sunshine DSP from the main catalogue and the Cheep Talk and Best Yet stamp sets. I used Riding Hood Red and Pacific Point ink and paper.

And here are some cards using the retired Stampin' Up! set Like it a Latte, which is one of my favourite stamp sets.

These two cards were made with a stamp set from the upcoming Spring Mini Catalogue, Great Friend. I love this stamp set! They also feature some of the gorgeous corduroy buttons & brads, which come in several colours and the beautiful Walk in the Park designer paper.

I made both cards using the same layout to show how different they can be using different feature colours from the designer paper.

I made several cards over the weekend using some new stamps from the upcoming Stampin' Up! Spring Mini Catalogue (available August 1!).

This card is made using the Choo Choo stamp set, the On Track jumbo wheel and the Oval All stamp set. It also features the new oval scallop punch, which is one of many great new accessories available in the Mini Catalogue! I cut out the little steam puff and used dimensionals on them to make them stand out a bit.

I've been so busy the past few weeks and have had hardly any time to sit and create fun stampy things. Except for the 30 hedgehog thank you cards I created for a someone.

I have an example of one of the cards, this is actually number 31 as I made the card too big, so I kept it. My task was to include the hedgehog from Fun & Fast notes on every card. I am sooo sick of this hedgehog!!!

I haven't been posting much lately, life has been rather hectic. First I joined the gym which totally wiped me out and it's kinda hard to be all creative when you're lying on the couch unable to move your arms! And now my dad is in hospital, and will be for some time, so that's going to take up most of my weekends for the next few months!

Anyway...here's a cute card I made with the Party Hearty stamp set, which was free as I earned it as part of Stampin' Up!'s new demonstrator incentive scheme! I actually earned 3 free sets!

I used dimensionals to give the cupcake frosting and candle a bit of 3D oomphiness.

I finally got my hands on my new catalogue stamps yesterday!

This one is made using the apple from Tart & Tangy. I stamped the red apple in Riding Hood Red and coloured in the stem and leaf with an Old Olive marker. Which I bought individually, as you can now do :)

The background paper is new, it's from the Haiku designer paper pack. I coloured everything in with the old ink pad and blender pen trick! :)

This is my card for Kristina Werner's Colour Inspiration #49. Lots of lovely colours to play with this week.

I used some of my brand new stamps from the fabulous new Stampin' Up! Australian 2009/2010 catalogue. The main stamps used are Circle Circus. I used the two larger circle punches and some dimensionals to add a bit of 3-Dness to two of the 'flowers'. The flower stems were made with the stem from the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set.

I bought my new camera yesterday, it's a Fuji Finepix J100. It's so tiny and lightweight! And it takes reasonably decent photos, which is the main thing!

Here's a few examples of the things I've been working on lately.

This is a Criss Cross card, the instructions can be found here. I really like this type of card and its actually quite easy to make and I'm definitely planning on making a few more when my new catalogue designer paper arrives, which will hopefully be before Easter!

Normally the front flap falls down so that you can decorate the inside front part but I didn't want to do that. Shaken not stirred! Actually I think I was watching a James Bond movie when I made this card.

This one is made with some stamps from the new Cheers to You stamp set, as well as using papers two of the new In Colours, Tangerine Tango and Baja Breeze. The olive is coloured in with Kiwi Kiss ink and the Cheers to You greeting is also stamped in Kiwi Kiss. The background images were stamped using Versamark Ink.

The new catalogue officially starts tomorrow!!

My camera is dead so I’ve scanned a few of the cards I’ve been working on. Hopefully I’ll have a new camera in a week or two so until then, I’ll be scanning cards instead.

Here’s one card using new stamp sets, In Colours and Designer Paper. I’ll upload a few more later.

The Hi image is punched out with the square scallop punch and I used a couple of dimensionals to make it stand out a bit. I love the birdie paper from the Good Morning Sunshine DSP. So cute!

I actually only used white and black as I don't have any grey. It was rather difficult to photograph due to all the shiny emobssing. The black heart is also embossed.

I now have less than a week til my first SU workshop! I'm really looking forward to it! At this stage there will be about 9 or so people attending.

Anyway I've been doing a few more samples to take along with me.

Cute little love note card with the seahorse from Fishy Friends.

This is a little box with the Loads of Love truck. I'm going to wrap up some yummies in a cellaphane bag and tie a little ribbon round that and have a tag hanging off the ribbon and put it in the box.

I've also done some scrapbook pages as well but I can't be bothered trying to photograph them :)

I ordered a few more Stampin' Up! things the other day, including the Priceless stamp set. This is one of the stamp sets that is being promoted for the Bushfire Appeal. It's a win/win situation really...I get a very good excuse to buy more stamps and 50% of the price is given to the Red Cross Bushfire Appeal! I also ordered a few more types of ribbon...it appears I am addicted to it!

There's been an email going around with photos of some of the Koalas that have been affected by the fires. They too have lost their homes, and some have been severely injured. This is a very rare sight normally, but it's been happening a lot over the past few days - people are able to get close enough to the Koalas to give them water. I've included a couple of photos that I got in an email of the adorable cuddly survivors of these horrible fires.

Piccies galore!!

I had the unfortunate experience of waking up at 5am this morning. After a while I decided I should get up and go for a walk. I took my camera along just in case, as I there are often pelicans and other interesting birdies around at the crack of dawn along the broadwater. Didn't see any today, however I did see this:

Goodness gracious great yellow balls of fire! Or something like that! The sky wasn't really yellow, but the camera seemed to think it was!

I received my newest order of SU stamps today. They arrived at my mum's place on Monday and she dropped them off at my place for me today. I got some great stamps, ink pads, paper, ribbon and tons of other stuff.

I did another version of a card I did last weekend, the only difference being I used pumpkin pie ribbon at the bottom.

This one I kinda CASE'd from Cannie Hunter's blog. Stamp: Eastern Blooms. Ink: Choc Chip. Paper: Old Olive CS, Choc Chip CS, Whisper White CS, Sahara Sand CS and Confetti Designer paper.

I used Sahara Sand & Whisper White CS on this card, Confetti stickers, Celebrate You stamp from the Figures of Speech stamp set, which I coloured in with Stampin Pastels. I used my lovely new circle scallop punch as well!

This card is made using Taken with Teal, Night of Navy and Whisper White CS, Fishy Friends stamp inked in Brilliant Blue ink and I used Brilliant Blue ink and a blender pen to colour in the image. I also used Fishy roller stamp which was inked using the Versamark stamp pad. I used Purely Pomegranite ribbon.

My first workshop is being held at my lovely mum's place on Feburary 28! I have to get crackin on my examples and demo stuff!! And from what I've heard, at least 2 people are probably going to book workshops on the day too!

I've done some more cards this weekend and even managed to create a cute little pillow box today. I did have a go at a large bag that turned into a disasterous mess and ended up in the bin. Luckily, I remembered to use old patterned paper and didn't destroy any of my good stuff.

These are the two little bags I made last week:

I used the Fun & Fast Notes hedgehog stamp and the Greetings Galore heart envelope on these. I am totally in love with that hedgehog! These were fairly simple to make and turned out ok. I used my Perfectly Pretty roller stamp in Real Red on Whisper White cardstock. Non SU ribbon on the bottom. Red cardstock for the handle. The hedgehog bag uses Whisper White, Taken with Teal, Sahara Sand and Pixie Pink cardstock. I used the Stampin Pastels to colour in the images and blended with a blender pen.

This cute little pillow box was so easy to make.

All supplies were from the Simply Scrappin' Confetti kit, including the little gift sticker. The sticker is matted on Rose Red textured cardstock which also comes with the kit and pop dotted so it stands out a bit.

On this card I used my cuttlebug texture plate on the red cardstock. I used my versamark pad and the Itty Bitty Background stamps on the brown cardstock. Non SU ribbon. Real Red ink and the enjoy stamp is from the Lovely Labels set.

Loads of Love stamp set again! I really like colouring in the truck! I used my versamark pad for the background Loads of Love greeting.

I doubt I'll get any more cards done this weekend, I have to get some ironing done :( And the Australian Open mens final is on too! Roger Federer vs Rafael Nadal! Should be a great match!

Yay it's Thursday night! I only have to work half a day tomorrow, so it's practically the weekend!! I'm loving watching the Australian Open at the moment. Except it's really messing with the amount of sleep I'm getting! I love watching Roger Federer, he's so amazingly good!

I'm very excited as I just made my first SU order as a demo!!! It was all for me, which is even better! I spent a small fortune, but thats ok. I turned out to be mostly paper and ribbon and I ended up with quite a few sets of free stamps thanks to Sale-A-Bration. For every $100 you spend, you can choose a free stamp set from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue .

There's 4 sets to choose from and I ended up getting 8 free sets! So I ordered 2 of each. That may give you an indication of how much I spent on my order! Naughty me!! :)

The Sale-A-Bration special ends on Febuary 28, so there's plenty of time to save up to get some freebies!

Due to the fabulous hostess perks that SU gives as well, I ended up more than doubling my ink pad collection! I also ordered a Crop-o-dile which I'm sure I'll have lots of fun with. Oooh I can't wait til it all arrives. I'm also looking forward to being able to spend more time playing with the demo kit this weekend. I'm going to try to master watercolouring the Load of Love pick up truck.

I also have some good news on the non-SU cards that my Mum's been selling for me. She's only showed them to 2 people so far and i've already sold $22 worth, which is pretty good as they're only priced at $2-$2.50! So about 11 of them. And she mentioned it to another friend of hers who has put in an order for $50 worth!!! So I have to make at least another 25 cards sometime soon. I wonder when I'm going to fit in time to sleep?!

I've been spending some of my day making some cards with my new Stampin' Up! goodies! I've been having lots of fun with these over the weekend and I made 2 cards today which I am quite pleased with. I made a couple on Saturday but I'm not 100% happy with them. I also attempted a box which definitely needs work!

70th Birthday Card

This evening I did a fairly quick card for my Uncle. He turns 70 on Monday.

It's kind of an odd looking card and probably not very masculine but I'm going through a lime/brown/pink phase at the moment!

I used my cuttlebug numbers folder on the green paper. The green paper is basic grey, the blingy 70 is American Craft thickers and I used my nestabilities for the circle and scalloped circle. I have no idea who made the ribbon or the brown background paper!

The other thing I did tonight was figure out to put a watermark on my photos. I was worried I would need fancy photo editing software and I couldn't find my copy of Corel Draw so I did a bit of googling and came up with the instructions for creating a watermark using MS Paint! The tutorial can be found here. It's so very easy!

It's a lovely long weekend here in Oz and I'm so excited about getting to play with my new SU stamps tomorrow!! The weather is filthy hot at the moment so I'm very glad that I will be spending most of the weekend at my mum's place, as she has air conditioning! I intend to spend most of Saturday mounting my stamps and watching many episodes of Midsomner Murder (mum's addicted!) on DVD! :)

Stampin' Up! Goodies!!!!

So my Stampin' Up! Demo kit arrived today!!!! Unfortunately I have everything delivered to my mum's place as she's retired and therefore home more than I am. And she lives in Brisbane!! So I have to wait til Saturday to get my hands on all my goodies!! Oh the agony!!

I'm hoping to get a couple of cards done over the weekend so I'll post those here when I get back home to the coast. I'm so glad my kit arrived before the weekend, it's Australia Day weekend which means we have Monday off work!! Yay! More time to stamp!

I watched this video today on Michelle's blog, detailing how to make a stay put bow. Very informative. Unforutnately I don't have a hole punch or a cropodile. The cropodile is on my wishlist though!!

I'm also hoping to get involved in some of the Color Inspiration challenges posted on Kristina Werner's blog. I love stamping/scrapbooking blogs, they're so informative and pretty to look at!

Teddy Bear Cards

I've managed to do a few more cards. I am not putting any sayings/words on these cards as my mother intends to sell them to her friends and they have requested blank cards so that they can send them for any occasion. It makes things a bit more challenging when you can't add a saying or greeting.

I'm about to become a Stampin' Up! demonstrator! I sent off my contract yesterday so now all I have to do is wait for my demo kit to arrive! I can't wait!!! Lots of lovely stampy stuff!!

I've been on a card making binge over the past week or so. And here are some of them:

These butterfly cards have the image stamped on the paper and then a cut out identical image placed on top so that the body is covering the background body but the wings are flappy outy. For want a better term!

This is a Gatefold card. I've never made one before but it turned out ok! The ribbon ties up to close the card.

This is a christmas card I made a few weeks ago for my friend. Its one of my favourites!

I finish my 4 weeks holiday tomorrow and I'm not very happy about it! I dont really want to go back to work on Monday. I'm going to miss staying up late and sleeping in late! Thankfully next weekend is a long weekend so I'll have an extra day to recover from working.

I know, a bit of an odd choice of books but stuff I'm all really interested in. I've read Round Ireland with a Fridge before and it's hilarious. The author of Time Was Soft There also has another book I want to read but it's not in stock at the moment! Those 5 books cost me $66 including shipping from the US. Not bad!! Can't wait til they arrive.

I've always had a bit of a thing for stationery, much like many other people I guess. This website Notemaker is an Aussie website devoted to all things stationery. It has Moleskine books, organisers, leather bound books, calenders, stickers, diaries and lots of other cool stuff.

Some of the cool things on the site that I quite like are the Patterned Sticky Tape, cool Disposable Paper Placemats, Message in a Bottle and the Behance Action Book.

Yeah so it's been a while since I've blogged. Over a year actually. But thats ok, the blog is still here, patiently waiting for me to update it and make it pretty :)

Squidoo A very interesting site. It's similar to blogging but people generally focus on one topic and provide lots of interesting info, pictures, links etc. Something I might try to do one day. An example of a cool Squidoo page is The Last Drop about a pub in Edinburgh. If you're interested in making a Squidoo Lens but not sure how this blog might help.
Barbara Sher - An author, whose book Refuse to Choose, totally inspires me. It's all about Scanners and how they have many varied interests, which is not normal according to the majority of the world. I love this book :)
Hey Monkey Brain - Where smart people go to argue
Better World Books - Similar to Amazon but the international shipping is incredibly cheap -$3.95 US per book. And they help ofset carbon emissions and a do a whole lot to help promote literacy around the world.

Cupcakes

Well my birthday has come and gone. I had a pretty good day...only worked for half the day, spent the afternoon shopping and then went and saw Wild Hogs in the evening. It's a hilarious movie!! Totally recommend it.

I enjoyed spending time with my friends at the Casino and also enjoyed the Brissie Papercrafts Festival on the Sunday. I tried a few new techniques in Zina Wright's class such as using felt and poppets. I haven't actually finished the page yet as I need to get some black and white photos done.

I've got a new obsession...Cupcakes! I made some last week, which turned out edible but not as fabulously as I'd hoped. It seems cupcake making and decorating is an art. There are heaps of cupcake blogs out there, All Cupcakes All the time is my current favourite. Flickr also has lots of fun piccies of cupcakes to drool over.

I'm busy packing up all my worldly possessions this weekend. Work is moving to the Coast in exactly 4 weeks and I haven't even started looking for a place to live! I've discovered packing is a lot more work than I remembered, so it's going to take a while.

Birthdays

Today I'm going to my godson's first birthday party! He turned 1 yesterday and today there will be a party in a park, complete with BBQ and cake! I bought him some very cute winter clothes and a Fisher Price fire truck that has a fireman and a dalmation doggie. Must take camera!

Next Friday is MY BIRTHDAY! I'll be 27 :( So far the plan is to go see Wild Hogs at the movies on Friday night with Mum and maybe I'll pop in next door to Cold Rock for some yummy ice cream.

Saturday night I'm going to the Casino with some of my friends and we're going to gamble and drink yummy expensive cocktails.

Then on Sunday afternoon I'm attending a class at the Brisbane Papercraft Expo, which I've never been to before. The class I'm attending goes for 3 hours and is run by Zina Wright and is called Get Creative.

And in other non-birthday but very exciting news.....drumroll please.....I have lost 2.3 kilos this week!!! Since last Saturday. I am totally wrapt. I haven't lost this much weight in a week since my old Atkins days. I decided to stop doing Weight Watchers last Saturday and count calories and fat instead. This obviously works much better for me!!

Despite the fact that I have been trying to lose weight since the start of December, this brings me to a total loss of 2.8 kilos!

Bring on the cyclone!

I am so glad this week is over. It's been long and tiring. It's really warm here in Brissie today. There's a tropical cyclone halfway up the state and bizzare as it seems, everyone's hoping it will come down south and inland a bit so we can get a big chunk of rain. That will totally solve the water crisis (for a year or so anyway!) It's name is Cyclone Odette!

I plan on getting some scrapping done this afternoon. I've downloaded a bunch of new tunes for inspiration so hopefully I'll have a few pages done by tomorrow. One would do really :)

Ode to homewares

I bought the cutest little hot water bottle today! It's only small but it comes with it's very own stripey jumper! Look:

I also got this little cup thing with a chandelier on 2 sides.

I'm not sure what I'll use it for but if all else fails, it'll become my toothbrush holder!

I'm 99.99999% sure that I will be moving to the Gold Coast in about 6 weeks so I'm busy collecting cute fun things, such as the above, to decorate my new flat with. This will be the 2nd official time I've moved out (not including the time I moved to the UK for 10 months), so I actually have a few large housey items such as a fridge, a microwave and various other bits n bobs. I dont have a kitchen table yet. The year that I was living in Melbourne, I didn't have a kitchen table at all! I borrowed someone's outdoor plastic lawn table and chairs. I think I ate at that table maybe once or twice. This time, I intend to buy myself a real live wooden table with real wooden chairs from IKEA! I love IKEA!

I saw Music & Lyrics at the movies last night. Hilariously funny! Seriously...if you need a laugh there's nothing funnier than Hugh Grant dressed up in 80s gear singing a very cheesy pop song! And his dancing! Brilliant!

The weekend is pretty much over although the premier of Ugly Betty is on tonight so I'll probably watch that and flick over to the Biggest Loser as it's weigh in night tonight.

I bought a beautiful platter thing at Myer yesterday, it was on special as were the two colourful ceramic bowls I bought. I've also ordered about 270 photos on snapfish, which are most of my Las Vegas photos except for about 30 or so pics of the Bellagio fountains.

I've had a very lovely lazy afternoon watching TV. Serendipty with John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale. And How to Steal a Million with Audrey Hepburn and Peter O'Toole. I've never seen it before and I missed the first half hour but what I saw was excellent. Great storyline! Fabulous cast!

I've almost finished my Statue of Liberty layout. I just need journalling. Unfortunately I have nothing to say about it so it's just sitting there waiting for words.

So this very yummy box of stuff was sitting on my doorstep when I arrived home! There's some gorgeous colours and the coolest shrinky stickers! Ooh and some bling bazzil and lots of funky papers and fab ric rac!! Two of the ric rak colours go perfectly with a layout I'm working on at the moment of the Statue of Liberty! (would you believe blue and lime green!?) Gonna have fun with this.

I had hoped the earrings I purchased on Etsy would arrive today but I guess I'll just have to wait a bit longer.

Challenge - If you could live in any other time period of the world besides right now, what time period would you love to live in??? and why?

There's probably one or two different time periods I'd love to live in. The first one that came to mind was the time of the French Revolution. It's my favourite war. As in, the one I find most interesting. All wars are bad, but this one was sooo blood thirsty. I don't actually think I'd have liked to have lived through it, but it seems like such an interesting era. If you like getting your head chopped off that is! I've probably read the Scarlet Pimpernel a few too many times!

Another interesting era would be the 1950s-1970s. I'd love to witness the birth of rock n roll, back when music mattered so much and some seriously amazing musical artists came on the scene. I realise people who are a few years older than me got to live it but it's not the same hearing about it from people.

I went on yet another mini shopping spree this morning. It wa'sn't intentional though. I really just wanted to get a copy of Elsie Flannigans book 52 Scrapbooking Challenges. I ended up getting that as well as:

Vintage fun

I've had quite a bit of fun over the past 24hours, spending cash on various things.

Last night I popped into a shop on my way home called Bay Swiss. It's a homewares place but also does food. Anyway I ended up getting 4 bright pink place mats for $3 each! Reduced from $5 each. Bargain! And I got the cutest gingerbread man cookie cutters. There's 3 in the box and they're called Already Been Chewed Cookies because they look like someone's taken a bite out of them.

Aren't they cute! The pink stripy thing behind the box is one of the placemats I bought.

Today Mum and I went into the Valley to do some vintage/retro fabric shopping. The Valley is hard to describe. It's just outside the city centre, it's where China town is, is very hip and has lots of clubs but is also full of people you don't want meet late at night in a dark alley if you get my meaning. Anyway they have markets in the mall every Saturday and there's a lot of 2nd hand clothing/vintage shops. We managed to score some seriously scary stuff! It was so much fun. I actually bought 2 headscarfs at the markets which are quite nice. The blue one is more of an aqua colour:

The stuff below is stuff we found in 2nd hand stores. Most of the stuff we bought is 100% polyester!

In this picture we have a lovely bright green polyester shirt, a funky brown, orange and cream patterned shirt and a dark blue velvet skirt! How 70's is that patterned shirt?!

In this picture we have a red/pink striped top, another polyester dotted blue shirt, a flowery skirt and a very cool wavey blue shirt that makes your eyes go funny when you look at it!

In this photo we have a mini skirt that is black and brightly patterened with dangly bead things. I think it'll make a lovely cushion!. The pink flowery dress is actually really pretty in real life and the funky wavey red and black top would make a lovely head scarf.

And finally below there is a hideously scary shirt that's made up of quite a few different patterns. A almost as hideous red dress, a very lovely blue silk tie and a very funky red and white belt!

We also got a whole bunch of records, including some of the smaller ones! Some of them I'm actually keeping to listen to and the others are going to be altered.

We're probably going to be making hand bags, cushions, lamp shades and the like out of all our finds!

Finding Dory

I would like to apologise to the aquatic community. I just ate Dory for dinner. That's right, I had Dory and chips for dinner (bloody yummy it was too!)

I did my attempted run thing again today. Still only managed 3 mins worth of running but I think I ran faster or better or something because my calves were screeeaming in pain. They were even more sore than my tendonitis which is saying something!

CHA is happening in Anaheim at the moment (disneyland and scrapping all in the one suburb!) Usually a lot of stuff appears that I absolutely love. This time there's only a few things but that's a very good thing as I'm trying to cut down on my scrapping spending.

The new stuff that I totally fell head over heels for is the new line by Elsie Flannigan called 'Love Elsie'. She's got 3 lines but the one I love the mostest is the one called 'Toby' It's a travel themed line and it's sooo freakin cool! A lot of companies assume that you want to do all your travel stuff using Parisian type colours and designs. Which would be fine if all you did was travel to Paris! Elsie's new travel line is bright and funky with lots of green and blue. Check out her blog!

I also love Basic Grey's new Precision File Set. Fabulous for when you're doing stuff with chipboard! Definitely getting one of those! I'm not drooling over any of their new paper lines, though I like most of the plain colours. Some of the patterns are ok but most are too flowery for me. More elephants and rockets I say!

Bazzil has some new bling cardstock which looks good, as well as some new shaped cardstock! I also liked Heidi Swapp's bling crowns! Very cute.

Inspiration. What kinds of things inspire you lately? Blog about it.

Well I'm totally inspired by that new Love Elsie line at the moment! Can't wait to get my hands on it.

Generally speaking though the thing that inspires me most is probably....colour. I sometimes go through phases of like one colour and trying to use it, wear it and just generally look at it. These days I'm going through a bit of a red and turquoise/aquamarine phase. I love retro colours too...it's amazing how colours that used to look so bad together can be altered and made funky!

Also my photos inspire me. I'm not saying they're all fabulous, but there are some that are really great. And when I sit down to scrap, I usually like to make sure I showcase the photos rather than make it all about the embellishments. Although sometimes it's just good to have fun and play and chuck whatever on a page! :)

Running!

I think I've tried to post this about 5 times already today! Silly Blogger!

I've started trying to run, using a program called Couch to 5k. It is a program that takes you from being a walker only through a 3 sessions per week, 9 week program (repeat weeks as necessary) that gradually increases your intervals of running until you are running continuously for 5km. Day 1, week 1 is 8mins running, 12 mins walking. I managed 3 mins running, 4.5 mins walking plus the 10minute warm up/cool down. Plus I staggered up a hill to get home.

It's tough, but I'm determined to keep at it because I felt so good after all the aches and pains went away. There's podcasts that you can download and it tells you when to run and when to walk.

I've decided to get myself an armband for my ipod if I'm still attempting this running thing by Mid-February, as my Valentine's Day present. Something similar to the one below. I keep worrying my ipod will fall out of my pocket.

Aren't I romantic?! :)

It's Australia Day today! Which means a day off work and a family BBQ. It's my uncle's birthday today too so every Australia Day we have a family get together. I just got home from the BBQ and I'm exhausted!

Despite the fact that it's a public holiday a lot of the shops were open so I went to Target and Kmart and Best & Less to pick up some homewares type stuff. I did pretty well. I got a beach towel (in case I move to the Gold Coast!), salt n pepper shakers, a nice serving bowl, a frying pan, tea towels, baking trays, a cake tin and lots of other things.

I made a couple of cards this afternoon as we actually celebrated 3 birthdays at the family BBQ. I totally left it to the last minute so they were a bit rushed.

This one was for my cousin's girlfriend who ended up not being able to make it to the party.
The papers are SEI and came from a Jenni Bowlin kit, as did the scalloped oval thing.

This is the inside of the card, using an SEI rubon that came with the Jenni Bowlin kit.

And this was for my uncle. I used Basic Grey paper, MM tiny alphas and some ribbon.

Raining, walking, scrapping..

It's raining!!! This is a very good thing, as pretty much all of Oz is currently in the throes of a very severe drought. It's been really muggy all day and so hopefully the rain will cool things down a bit. I hope some rain ends up in the dams. Probably won't though!

I am also glad the rain held off til after I got back from my walk. I had a go at doing some intensity training. I heard about this new study that's been done where they found people burned 3 times as much fat by cycling for 8 seconds really fast then cycling normally for 12 seconds then going back to the fast 8 seconds etc. for 20 minutes. My fitness level is a bit crap (er...understatement of the year??) at the moment so I did some walk/jogging for about 10mins. It almost bloody killed me! I then had to stagger up a hill to get home. Hopefully I can increase my walk/jogs as time goes by.

Other fabulous news... Friday is Australia Day, meaning I don't have to go to work!! Tomorrow is the end of the working week!

Last night I went to the soccer with a friend. Queensland Roar played Sydney FC. Unfortunately it ended 1-1 which meant that Sydney went into the finals! We was robbed!!

It was a great game though and there were over 32,000 people there! We went to a game this time last year and there were only 13,000 so there's been a massive increase, probably thanks to the World Cup last year. I actually ran into a friend who I haven't seen in ages on our way out. 32,000 people and I run into someone I know. It's such a typical Brisbane thing. There may be 1million people here but it's still very common to run into people you know wherever you go!

I've had some biggish news work wise. There's a very strong possbility that the office is going to move from Brisbane to the Gold Coast. That's about an hours drive from here. I found out on Friday. Hardly anyone at work knows, it's very hush hush. So I'm posting it on the internet ;) I'll find out in about a month whether or not it will actually happen. Our office lease expires at the end of March so they will either move the office then or stay put for another year.

I was suprised by the news, but not overly upset. If the relocation happens, I will move down to the Gold Coast. It's very nice down there - there's lovely beaches. I'm kinda looking forward to it.

I've been working on a scrapbook layout for about a week now. It's almost done, I'm just waiting for some chipboard to dry. It would have been finished earlier but I was having glitter issues. Hopefully I'll get it finished and scanned later today!

Vegas layout

I managed to survive my first week back at work. It was tiring but I'm sure I'll get back into the swing of things soon.

I finally finished a 2 page layout last night that I've been working on for about a week.

This is page 1:

The title was done using Basic Grey mini mono chipboard, which I painted red and then covered with modge podge and poured glitter all over it (and all over me, the table, the floor etc..). Then once that dried I put more modge podge on top to seal it. It turned out really well.

Page 2:

The heart is fabric and puffy, it came in the Janurary Poppy Ink Kit. I can't remember who makes the 'fabulous' rhinestone word. Isn't it fabulous!? :)

Funny story about getting these layouts digitally stitched together....for ages I've been trying to find a freeware stitching program, because I'm a cheapskate and won't pay for something I hardly ever use. Anyway over the past couple of years I've downloaded various 30 day trials of software. So today after searching the net and reading that most people had some sort of panoramic stitching software that came with their scanner or digi cam, I had a search on my software at some of the programs I never use and lo and behold there's one called Photo Stitch by Canon. Only took me about 4 years to figure out it was there! And it's such an easy program to use too!

I've uploaded the Vegas layouts onto Two Peas and I must say I love the increased size gallery piccies. They used to be large then got reduced so you could hardly see anything, now I can actually sit back in my chair and look comfortably. I don't know what's happened but in the past day or so there's been some bloody great layouts. They're usually pretty good, but it seems the Peas have upped the ante a bit recently. Or it could be that I can now actually see the layouts and therefore realise how good they actually are!

I also have quite a few movie and musical soundtracks which have their own playlist. I also have a Broadway playlist of select songs from various Broadway shows, a soundtrack playlist for songs from movies.

I have an Oldies playlist with songs by the BeeGees (love them!), Abba, Blondie, the Eagles, Don MacLean (American Pie!!), John Denver, Neil Diamond, Tom Jones, Roy Orbison etc.

My Rock playlist has artists like Bon Jovi, AC/DC, Kiss, the Doors, Guns n Roses, Sex Pistols and the Who.

I have an Xmas playlist and also a Workin for the Man playlist which has a lot of songs about how work sucks! Great for when you really dont feel like going to work.

I just had a look at the Tuesday 2 Peas Blog challenge and thought I'd weigh in on the topic.

Challenge: Valentines day is right around the corner. What are you gonna be doing for your valentine this year??? blog about it.. or what do you hope to get from your valentine??? anything? Share your valentine wishes.

As per my post below, I'm single and therefore expect to get BUGGER ALL on Valentine's Day. I usually hate Valentine's Day, although the older I get, the less I care about it.

Almost every year I buy myself something for Valentine's Day. I started this in 1998. I felt sad and pathetic about not having anyone to celebrate V-Day with so I bought myself 2 CDs. Ever since then I've tried to buy myself a present, if finances allowed it. Last year was by far and away the best Valentine's Day I ever had. A couple of days before I booked an open jaw flight to America (Into Vegas, out from New York for September). I paid for my plane ticket on February 14 and I was so excited. I have no idea how I'm ever going to top that!

Other things I have bought myself for Valentine's Day include CDs, a Fish and Chip dinner and books.

You may correctly assume from the above ramblings that I have NEVER received anything on Valentine's Day. Not even a card.

If anyone has any ideas on what I should buy myself for Valentine's Day this year, let me know! :)

So tired!

Work is exhausting! Actually the work part isn't so bad, I'm busy but not frantic, it's the getting up at 5:20am in the morning part that's doing me in. Thank god I only do the 7:30 shift every 2nd week. I get to leave work at 1pm every second Friday and thank goodness it's this Friday! Only a day and a half til the weekend!

I had a good and unexpected mail day today....my Poppy Ink kit arrived, along with another order I placed from Blue Bazaar. The kits only come out today so I wasn't really expecting it til Friday. I ain't complaining!

It's Valentine's/Love themed this month. There's quite a few Basic Grey Blush papers, some other funky papers I've never seen before, lovely cardstock (the bright pink is gorgeous!), a 7 gypsies word stamp, funky ribbon and bits of fabric and loads more. I don't really have a use for Valentine's day stuff, being single and all, so I guess I'll just have to be creative and find another use for all the lovey-dovey romance stuff!

I really enjoyed Night at the Museum on Sunday night. It was funny and had a twist or two in it that I wasn't expecting! Makes me wish I had gone to the Museum of Natural History when I was in New York.

Ok so Elvis Presley's birthday isn't until tomorrow but I doubt I'll have the energy to post tomorrow as I'm going back to work so he gets an early birthday greeting from me.

If he was still alive, Elvis would be 72 on 8 January 2007. So Happy Birthday to the King!

Today is my last day of freedom, I've had 3 weeks of staying up late, sleeping in, too much food and too much shopping! I'm kinda glad to be going back, but also sad that I won't be able to sleep in anymore!

I accidentally deleted a large chunk of my music from my computer, which meant that the songs wouldn't play in iTunes, so I've spent most of this afternoon trying to add back as many of the songs as possible. Not a fun job. I've still got a lot to download but at least it's been good to clean up and clean out my songs.

I've also managed to finish a 2 page layout this afternoon of the John Lennon Imagine tribute in Central Park, using some of my newer and older supplies. Now I have to decide which layout to do next...always a struggle for me. Am I in the mood for pictures of the Welcome to Las Vegas sign, or something else?

Tomorrow I am having lunch with a friend in town. Not sure what else I'll do. She and I are going to see the Brisbane Roar (soccer team) in a couple of weeks, which I'm very excited about. It's something to look forward to!

Oops I did it again!

I went shopping again. Scrap book shopping, naturally. In my defence I had a full punch card thing to the store I went to, which gave me $25 off my purchase, plus I used the $27.55 I got from winning lotto on Saturday night. We actually won lotto twice, two 5th divisions. I got one and mum got the other. So I technically had over $50 in free money t0 spend!

I bought some card stock - black, chocolate and cream. I totally forgot to get paperbag cardstock as I've run out and I prefer it to kraft. Doh! I bought some lovely alphas - the Making Memories cheeky shimmer alpha stickers in red, K-ology Addison chipboard which is a lovely blue & green mixture with lots of glitter, that is currently all over my hands, and chip chatter upper case in brown.

I also bought some of the new Basic Grey Blush papers. Beeautiful! I just love the pinks and reds and aqua colours. I have no idea what I'll use them for but they are soo pretty!

I actually finished a layout yesterday. I haven't scanned it because it's not all that fabulous. It's a photo of a chocolate crepe I ate for breakfast in Las Vegas!

I can't believe it's 2007! I remember when the year 2000 seemed a long way off!

I feel sorry for all the poor souls in Scotland. Edinburgh's famous Hogmanay was cancelled due to gale force winds, as were the celebrations in Glasgow. I was a part of the 2004-2005 Hogmanay celebrations - me, an English friend and 100,000 strangers. It's a lot of fun, though very squishy.
I spent my 2006-2007 New Years Eve at home, watching a few movies - Holiday Inn with Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire and I watched most of Chicago, did a spot of scrapbooking and ended up in bed at 11:30. I was awake til 12:30 so I did see the New Year in, even though I really just wanted to be asleep. The neighbours dog had other ideas apparently.

I saw Flushed Away at the movies this afternoon! It was really funny. One of my favourite parts was when the bad guys were chasing Roddy and Rita and one of them says 'Danger is my middle name' and the other bad guy says 'I thought your middle name was Leslie'. I think I was the only person in the cinema who laughed at that joke. :)

I saw Marie Antoinette at the movies a couple of days ago. It stars Kirsten Dunst and I really enjoyed it. The plot's a bit thin but the amazing costumes and scenery and funky soundtrack totally make up for that itty bitty problem. Luckily they end the film before the royal family gets captured by the Revolutionists. I really didn't want her to die, I felt sorry for her.

Yesterday I bought some new clothes and also went to Borders to buy a new book and some magazines with the gift voucher I got for Christmas.

I started a scrapbook layout last night. Why is it that I only get in the scrapping zone late at night? I started it at about 9:30pm so naturally I didn't finish it but this morning I'm not really in the mood to finish it off. How frustrating!

So this morning I went to Photo Continental with my gift voucher I got for Christmas. They were having a sale so I ended up purchasing $73 worth of stuff for about $37 or so. Not bad! I got two transparent overlays - one with a lovely picture of Big Ben and one with a picture of Pont Neuf (a bridge in Paris). I also got a new blade for my Carl trimmer, some Basic Grey chipboard alphas - the chipboard mini monos, the chipboard block alphas and the chipboard monograms (please ignore the fact that I have only used 2 letters from my other box of monograms!) and I got a box of beeeautiful silver K & Co Twinkle Type alphas. I wanted red as well but thought that was going overboard a bit.

So then I came home and bought some more stuff online. One of my favourite online scrapbook stores has 25% off everything so I got Basic Grey Pewter square bookplates, a Microfine glitter set with 12 different glitter colours, Lil Davis Tinsel Town Paint in strawberry, mint and silver and glitter glaze paint in rose and a mega alpha letter R (for Robbie!!!).

Apparently I'm going though some sort of glitter sparkly quarter life crisis.

I have no idea where I'm going to put all this stuff, my scrap area looks like a bomb hit it, there's flowers and ribbon all over the place.

I had a nice Christmas, very low key but thats how I like it. I got some nice presents, including books, money, gift vouchers, an ipod alarm clock radio thing and a vegetable peeler! :)

Today Mum and I saw The Holiday at the movies. I really enjoyed it. It was funny and I got to perve on Jude Law for 2 hours...what more could a girl ask for? I wouldn't mind seeing it again. I'm hoping to see a few more movies within the next couple of weeks. I plan on seeing Marie Antoinette in the next day or two.

I bought several cheap DVD movies while I was out today. I got two Doris Day movies, two Bing Crosby movies, Alfie (Starring Jude Law!!) and Sliding Doors, all for under $40!

Tomorrow I am going to Photo Continental to spend a gift voucher I got for Christmas and I think on Thursday we are going to IKEA as they have moved into a much larger location and I'm hoping to pick up some cheap household items. IKEA is such a fun place to wander about.

I'm on holidays! For 3 weeks! No more having to get up at 5:15 to do the 7:30 shift...for three blissful weeks!

And to start off my holidays I woke up at 4am this morning! Well done me. I went down to the Gold Coast with my mum. We did some shopping, both Christmas shopping and shopping for us (as you do!). Still haven't done all our Christmas shopping yet though.

I had a FABULOUS time at the Robbie Williams concert on Wednesday night. I was absolutely shattered on Thursday as I only had 5 and a half hours sleep. I got lots of great photos and some rubbish ones! My friend and I spent most of the concert on our feet dancing!
